Leicester-based Daylight finally settled onthe
name in late 2003. They had played in various guises, and with different
personnel for a number of years. The first gig which could be pointed at
as being a Daylight gig was at a Leicester music venue, The Shed, in April
2003. Now, having supported David Gate, the bandwithnoname and The Violet
Burning, the band are poised for more rock'n'roll (and even some funk [don't
get yourself banned from this site lads! ;-)...-Web Ed] ) The band
is based on a near telepathic communication between Joel and Dan, the natural
ability of Jonno's bass playing and the sheer guitar heroics of the legend:
Ed Dampier. The old story of the whole being greater than the sum of its
parts. Of course, the music is very important - that's what bands are for.
But in a world where people are fumbling in the dark; searching for identity,
and a place to belong, where better to point them than the One who puts
the "Light" in Daylight? The future may not necessarily be Orange,
but it's certainly bright. |
